Integrate a USBE-Key™ into any electronic smart lock access control system and Eliminate the Mechanical Key! The USBE-Key can provide power to smart locks when the batteries go dead or they can be a FREE OF BATTERY™ smart locks  only source of power. Existing smart locks already use an electronic latch or motor, so there is no additional cost to add a USBE-Key. Use a smart phone to configure a smart lock and the USBE-Key to operate (lock/unlock) quickly like a mechanical key and merge multiple keys into one. Never lose track of which key your lock can access with E-Key Tag™, which is a modifiable electronic lock list text file stored in the USBE-Key.

Consolidate the functions of a USB flash drive, power supply, and electronic key into a single device. The USBE-Key can both store files (i.e. music files, text files etc.…) and access them as a USB Mass Storage Device and also grant access to smart locks or other electronic security devices. Just like a USB flash drive, a user can identify the USBE-Key with its Volume Name that is accessible and modifiable when plugged into a computer. Replace the mechanical key interface on a smart lock with a USB connector to add the USBE-Key feature to your current smart lock design and save space and reduce cost.

Using a patented design, the USBE-Key is designed to consume very little power, consuming power only when accessing a smart lock. The USBE-Key leverages existing and ubiquitous USB infrastructure and integrates a is powered with a rechargeable battery. The battery is recharged by plugging the USBE-Key into a USB port of a computer or other type of USB charge port without adaptors or cables.
